Project background/ brief

To develop UX for a Home Servicing Agency based out of Germany. This includes understanding the requirements, ideating on possible UX strategies and coming up with UX for different personas. The project involves design of two different mobile apps and an administrative dashboard to enable automisation of the current system.

Overview

The client company XXX (name not disclosed) runs a home servicing company in Germany.

The current system involves manually assigning tasks to its employees (cleaners) on a daily basis. The idea of automising this current system digitally was backed with intensive UX study. Hence I designed an  Admin Dashboard along with a digital interface for the employees. In addition to this, a customer website was also designed to enhance the visibility of the brand.

USER NEEDS/WANTS & IDEATING

After understanding client requirements, I listed out the main features as 'needs' and started my ideation process in divisions by defining three personas- Admin (owner), Workers (cleaners), Customers.

According to the persona, a user story was written so that the process flow is defined and it's easy to identify user wants.

After listing down the needs and wants I started identifying the main features of the website.

Each persona came with a specific constraint. For example, the cleaners weren't that educated and an easy one page interface was preferred in order to make sure the interface is accessible by them.

I moved to translating these features into digital screen and started making low-fidelity wireframes.

WIREFRAMING

Multiple set of wireframes were generated. Initial wireframes focused on giving a structure to the website by taking into account the functionality on a page which takes into account user needs and user journeys.

Later I added in colours and other UI components and kept improving the design and functions in the later stages as the project progressed.

DESIGN SYSTEM

I created a design system specially for this project, which had a collection of reusable components, guided by clear standards, which could be assembled together to build an application.

LOOKING BACK & REFLECTING

Looking beyond the academics and gaining real life experience was my goal from the very beginning. I wanted to work on a project where I had the creative freedom throughout the product creation cycle from conceptualisation, ideation and delivering the end product in the given time frame. VRBotz gave me this wonderful learning opportunity where I was given the requirement brief and asked to come up with the best end product possible. I learned a lot in these two months mainly understanding what needs to be done and creating my own design process. Beyond this project, I am looking forward to work on different projects at larger scales enabling me to constantly learn and deliver the best.
